H2 Math Tuition Singapore
The Annexe Project’s H2 Math tuition is a live, small-group online class catered for JC1 and JC2 students taking the Singapore-Cambridge GCE H2 Mathematics (Syllabus 9758), which is a pre-university A-Level subject. Every lesson is taught by our founder, Mr Alvin Yeo, two hours a week on Zoom, and 90% of our 2025 H2 Math students scored an A or B. Fees are SGD 350 per cycle of 4 weekly sessions.
The A-Level H2 Mathematics syllabus is assessed by two 3-hour written examination papers, each carrying 100 marks.
- Paper 1 (3 hours, 100 marks): Pure Mathematics only. Consists of 10 to 12 questions of varying lengths and marks, including at least two questions on real-world applications (sciences, engineering, etc.).
- Paper 2 (3 hours, 100 marks): Split into two sections:
- Section A (Pure Mathematics – 40 marks): 4 to 5 questions
- Section B (Probability and Statistics – 60 marks): 6 to 8 questions

Who is this H2 Math class for
- JC1 students starting H2 Math who want to fully understand the concept of each topic, not just memorise steps
- JC2 students who scored below a B at their JC1 Promotional Examinations (Promos) or mid-term weighted assessment (usually after the June school term break) and need a reset before their Prelims / the A-Levels
- IP students entering Year 5 & 6 and switching up their study gear to prepare for the A-Levels
- Overseas Cambridge candidates taking the Singapore-Cambridge GCE H2 Mathematics (Syllabus 9758)
What an H2 Math lesson with Mr Alvin Yeo looks like
- Receive in-house notes curated by Mr Alvin Yeo. Structured and concise notes in PDF format are sent to students before the commencement of a lecture. You can download them to your writing tablet or print them out in hardcopy via your home printer for use during his lecture.
- Live working on a digital whiteboard. Every question and example is solved and shown during the online lecture, in a step-by-step approach, following the Cambridge marking scheme format. Students can ask questions aloud during his lecture or on the Zoom chat.
- Weekly homework. Tutorial questions for homework are always assigned at the end of Mr Alvin’s lectures so that students can apply the concepts they have just learnt to further strengthen their knowledge of the topic.
- Recorded lecture video. The lecture that you have just attended is recorded live and uploaded to the resource library, where you can download it and watch it for the entire course duration.
- Free consultations. You can always reach out to your tutor for a consultation after class if you have doubts, anytime. This has always been part of the academy’s culture since its founding in 2008.

H2 Math results by year
The percentage of students scoring an A each year at the A-Levels is a clear indicator of how well our H2 Math tuition is doing. Of course, there are highs and lows, good and bad years. We celebrate the highs, but most importantly, we learn from the lows and try to do better.
Percentages are the share of that year’s Annexe Project cohort achieving the grade at the national exam, as announced to parents each results day.
| 2024 | 2025 |
|---|---|
| 75% | 90% |
Students scoring an A: 2021: 82% · 2022: 85% · 2023: 57.9% · 2024: 65%.

Common questions
How much does H2 Math tuition cost in Singapore?
At The Annexe Project, H2 Math tuition is SGD 350 per cycle of 4 weekly sessions of two hours each (SGD 87.50 per session), notes and lecture recordings included. Group H2 Maths tuition classes in Singapore commonly range from about SGD 300 to 450 per month, and private one-to-one H2 Math tuition will be SGD 100 and above per hour.
How many students are in the class?
Classes are kept deliberately small (usually within 10 students) so that Mr Alvin Yeo can closely monitor every student’s work and attention during his online lectures. Ask us about the current size of the specific JC1 or JC2 class that you are considering.
How difficult is H2 Math?
H2 Math is quite a jump from the standards of O-Level Elementary Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, mainly because of the volume of new topics (e.g. 3D Vectors, Complex Numbers, Maclaurin’s Series and Differential Equations in Pure Math, and Hypothesis Testing, Correlation and Regression in Statistics) and the amount of time needed to understand them and be fully prepared for the A-Levels within a 2-year study period. Students who revise regularly, with ample time on practice questions, find it manageable; the ones who fall behind in JC1 struggle even more when they are in JC2. That is why at The Annexe Project, our H2 Math tuition classes run weekly with homework given to students to practise, and consultations are always offered to students to clear their doubts on concepts they struggle with.
Which JC years does the H2 Math tuition at The Annexe Project cover?
Our JC Math tuition covers both JC1 and JC2, with the aim of preparing JC1 students well ahead for the Promotional Examination (usually held in October) and gearing up JC2 students for the A-Levels held in November.
Are the H2 Math lessons online or in person?
All classes at The Annexe Project are online and live over Zoom. Students and the tutor have the lesson in real time, and students can ask the tutor questions during his lesson. We no longer conduct classes at a physical centre.
Is online H2 Math tuition effective?
Our results say yes! 90% of the 2025 H2 Math cohort under Mr Alvin’s tutelage scored an A or B! Live online classes remove the travel time, encourage students to re-watch the recorded lecture videos for revision purposes and allow students based outside of Singapore to join. We have students from Malaysia, China and even Dubai who attend our online A-Level Math tuition with Mr Alvin Yeo.
What if I miss an H2 Math tuition lesson?
Every lecture is recorded and accessible to the students throughout the duration of the course. Free consultations are offered outside class hours to students who need more help. This has been part of our teaching culture at The Annexe Project since our founding in 2008.
When should a JC1 student start H2 Math tuition?
Ideally in Term 1 of JC1, before the introduction of heavier topics like Sequences and Series, Calculus, Vectors, etc.
