Fully worked model solutions for the 2021 O-Level A-Math Paper 1 examination paper, hand-written by Mr Alvin Yeo of The Annexe Project. Every method step is shown in the format the Cambridge marking scheme rewards, so students can check not just the final answer but the working that earns the marks. The companion Paper 2 solutions are also free.
Prepared by Mr Alvin Yeo, principal tutor at The Annexe Project, these suggested solutions are part of the resources used in O-Level A Math tuition. Each question includes full working and is presented with exam-style structure to support effective revision.

How to use these solutions
Attempt the paper first, timed. The real paper allows 2 h 15 min · 90 marks. Mark what you can before looking.
Compare the working, not just the answer. Method marks are where most O-Level and A-Level candidates lose their grade; each line here is a mark-bearing step.
Redo the questions you got wrong a week later, without the solution open. If a topic keeps failing, that is the topic to bring to a consultation.
Need the formulas? See the O-Level maths formula sheet (what is given in the paper and what must be memorised).
